Call for Support!
Ebola outbreak occurrence in DRCongo
The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) urgently appeals for international solidarity and support to contain this outbreak and prevent further loss of life.
We express our sincere gratitude to the World Health Organization (WHO) for its swift response and technical assistance, which has already played a crucial role in the initial containment efforts. https://lnkd.in/dqDiT4ND
However, given the high fatality rate and rapid transmission observed, urgent scaling up of interventions is needed.
We recommend
- to strengthen Contact Tracing and Monitoring Systems :implement a structured and harmonized approach to contact listing, tracking, and follow-up, including the use of trained personnel, standardized tools, and routine supervision.
- Integrate Psychosocial Support
3.Provide comprehensive support packages for patients, families, and frontline health workers—covering nutritional needs, food assistance, and tailored psychosocial support. - Establish others Standard-Compliant Ebola Treatment Center (ETC)
- Identify and equip a facility that meets national standards for isolation, treatment, and infection prevention, staffed with trained and protected personnel.
- Develop a Community-Based Evacuation Mechanism; Work with local leaders to establish safe and accessible patient evacuation protocols to ensure early and secure access to treatment.
- Intensify Active Case Finding; Deploy mobile response teams and conduct community-based surveillance in at-risk zones.

This outbreak represents a serious threat not only to the DRC but to regional public health security. Global solidarity, technical cooperation, and resource mobilization are essential to avoid a broader crisis. We call upon partners, donors, and humanitarian actors to act swiftly and decisively in support of the Congolese people.
